Blended Family ~ Family Photography ~ Avon Lake Family Photography

Coming from experience with blended families on both sides ~ my mom’s and my dad’s…and in the past 6 years my very own…it can be a rough road ahead when blending two families together. I have been blessed with a stress-free transition and also love witnessing it through others.  I had the pleasure to photograph a soon-to-be blended family this fall. Kerry and Iain had a son of their own from their previous marrige and you would have thought they grew up together in the same house all along…they are truly brothers in every essence of the word.  I had the pleasure to capture their wedding as well and part of my wedding package is an engagement session, instead of an engagement session they wanted to do a family session…it made perfect sense.

I remember reading a quote that makes me smile and remember my journey to where I am today: “Never be afraid to fall apart because it is an opportunity to rebuild yourself the way you wish you had been all along”. Sometimes we go down the wrong path so we know when we are on the right path. We must be willing to let go of the life was had planned {even though this can be quite difficult} so as to have the life that is waiting for us!

Here are a few of my favorites from Kerry and Iain’s family session {or shall I say engagement session 🙂 }
