A Winter Maternity Session
So of course as a photographer I cannot wait to take pictures and capture precious moments of my own family. Having an early March due date only means you are going to have a very cold outdoor maternity session here in Ohio. And I always enjoy a good indoor lifestyle maternity shoot as well. Here are a few of my favorite images from Makayla’s session. It figures our indoor session ended up being a warmer day then the outdoor session, but I do have to say they were total troupers and handled the cold pretty well. Makayla even sat on the chilly grass…got to love when they “take one for…

Emily…2015 Medina High School Senior
…it always amazes me how time flies! As days can drag on and you may wish one to be over with already your almost blindsided by the reality of it all. With a blink of an eye looking back time goes by ever too quickly. Take Emily for instant. I can remember her mom’s baby shower and how she was technically in labor that day…and when she was brought home from the hospital…so small…and when she FINALLY could say my name [well actually she said Wicky] but it just feels like it was yesterday. I have my own kids but I see the process daily…micro daily as that matter lol…

Changing One’s Perspective Can Be Make a Difference…
I feel photography is art…and love having almost every single photograph “off-entered”. But I also love changing my perspective. Photographing kids can be a difficult task to begin with but just changing one’s perspective can help give the emotion in the image…I love every form of photography…and almost every form of art, but when it comes to picture and the ones that grab my attention and love are those of a unique and different perspective. When its a single subject I will definitely make them off-centered…to let the subject draw you in…if the photograph was taken from a different or unique perspective I love having them upfront and centered. Almost…

Garfield Elementary Talent Show ~ Frankie’s last year
You know its bittersweet to see your children grow up…this is the last year my youngest daughter is in elementary school…this seems so unreal to me…my baby is going into middle school…where has the time gone? Every year she loved participating in the Garfield Talent show both performing and behind the scenes…as she got older I was happy when she decided to be the “performer” and got to see her up front and center…nothing like watching your own children and their friends grow into their own…couldn’t be more proud. When Kris called me to book her shoot – I just had this feeling it was going to be a lot of fun…the excitement in her voice alone about doing a photo session ~ my kind of gal. On the day of our shoot – I have to admit… I was a bit nervous. I was heading to a location I had never been in forever and I ALWAYS scout out locations before a shoot…and the weather this time of year is so unpredicible…it ended up to be extremely nice…a bit windy but after roaming around the chill in the air seemed to have disappeared. Kris came completely prepared…with of…

Friends for Life ~ Children Photography
Many children have a favorite stuffed bunny, bear, monkey, or puppy or even a blanket they adore, and bring almost everywhere. God forbid this object gets lost or left at home. I have personally run out to pick up “Bunny” late at night because somehow it was “forgotten”…can’t even imagine how when these little “Friends for Life” are loved so much. My oldest daughter was attached to her blanket that belonged in her crib…a thick comforter that over the years turned into a see-through thin piece of material that faded terribly but you could tell it was well loved. My youngest daughter grew attached to a Precious Moment’s stuffed bunny…

The Dread of January
I sit here very pleased with my business and my passion I have for what I do for a living but sometimes wonder if I can do more. I am trying to get my non-profit organization up and running but this is going to take time…my free photo shoots for family in needs and fundraisers are a start but it is harder to contact the fellow photographers and getting them on board is much more difficult that I anticipated. So I have been concentrated on my organization skills for my business right now. I currently have terrible bookkeeping skills and am amazed on how well I am doing {you should…

Meet Sean…Medina Photography…Medina High School Senior Photography
I have to say my favorite part of photography are the children…ALL ages…and the most enjoyment is high school seniors. I don’t say this because the younger kids are cuter and gigglier, I say this because I enjoy seeing them in who they’ve become and talk about their hopes and dreams. I get to witness two sides to these individuals… the first side is the shy quiet let’s-get-this-over-with individual to a happy-to-be-here and I’m-actually-having-fun individual who starts sharing his or her dreams. I remember this age so well…you expect so much out of your life and can’t wait to live it, that passion in your belly…mine was lost a while…

What Would It Be Like Without Family? Medina Family Photography
My mom’s side of the family is teeny-tiny compared to my dad’s side…I feel such a special bond with my cousin and my aunt its hard to explain. I miss them, but when we do get together its nothing but laughs! I still see my little cousin as well, my little cousin, but she is all grown now with her own family and I couldn’t be happier for her. Summer Picnics
…I love picnics…even if its in my own backyard…nothing like grabbing a blanket and a few sandwiches and sodas and relaxing in the summer light (shade for me these days). Frankie had a friend over for this picnic so of course I could resist and brought my camera with me…the joy to be a 10 year old again. I love when she knows I can still hear everything she has to say even when I have a camera attached to my eye…she sees right through it but every time I click the shutter button I hope I capture that moment. Her expressions when tell a story is pure joy! This…

Lucas Twins – Chagrin Falls Children Photography
I had the privilege of growing up with a twin…there is no comparison of the connection I have with my twin sister compared to my other siblings…don’t get me wrong I love them dearly and am very close to each and everyone of them but my twin sister I just don’t know what I would do without her. {Yes Val I am saying this about you lol} We knew how to complete each other’s sentence when we were little and even had out own “language” no one really understood…now as adults it is the same… …A few months back an old classmate of mine contacted me through Facebook and wanted her twins…

Hudson High School Student – Nordonia High School
Talk about natural beauty!!! Courtney came to her photo session with her mom and we had fun! My kind of gal! Courtney has naturally beautiful skin…naturally curly hair…gorgeous lips… the perfect face for the camera…and the camera did love her! I absolutely love when a client is up for anything! It makes my job easier but most importantly more fun! Thank you for a wonderful photo shoot Courtney and Laurie 🙂

Nordonia High School Senior – Mikey
Now here is Mikey…the other half of the twin session! Such a cutie…and just like Stephanie I was able to see how much he has grown from a little boy into a young handsome man! I wish both of them such luck and fun in what their life and future has to offer them.

Nordonia High School Senior – Stephanie
Here is beautiful Stephanie Miller…she has so much energy and love for life. I had the pleasure to watch her grow from a cute adorable little girl into a beautiful young woman. She is one of the twins I posted a few days back…and what a joy was it to photograph her…and lucky me for having such a beautiful subject…she photographs so well. I wish Stephanie well in her future endeavors after graduation and I am pretty sure I will be able to see her continue to mature into that beautiful woman she is becoming.

Double the fun!
Today I got to enjoy a photo shoot twice as much! I was able to capture 2 high school seniors from Nordonia…TWINS. And not just any twins…a pair of twins I knew since they were itty bitty…all grown up now but such a blast to photograph them. Being a twin myself I enjoy watching other twins interact with one another…there is something to be said about a bond among twins, and with my personal experience I couldn’t agree more. Today I am posting the images of the both of them and within the next couple of days I will post their individual photographs.

The Beauty is in Children…
…I get so happy and excited when I have the chance to photograph children…the pure innocence and the “authentic” soul of an individual is when they are young and yet not truly seeing the world for what it is. And when I capture that one image from every sessions and I say “Now that’s a keeper”…I know I captured their true beauty. But then I have the opportunity to photograph older children and high school seniors and love when I can still see their inner beauty. My favorite quote from Dorothea Lange is ” Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” I love that…
