I am far from perfect, but part of my personality I strive to do everything so perfectly when to realize I am not perfect…

    Missing Friendships…

My daughter made such wonderful friends with neighbors across the street and they are such a wonderful family…I would be able to see their adorable faces on a daily basis and I can honestly say I miss them.  They moved a few years back and come back into town to visit family and their friends…and I love witnessing the excitement once these girls get together again…how I miss their giggles 🙂  I was lucky enough to photograph the family and boy how can one year be such a difference to the older one…sigh…watching her on a daily basis I don’t see the difference but only seeing her once a year…wow…how…

I am a bit behind on my blog these days so please bare with me as I am still posting a few sessions from the last summer…as we all know summer is about to creep up on us soon {well actually not soon enough}. The “ho-hums” of January…

January brings mixed emotions for me…I am sad the kids are back at school and excited all at the same time…even sad when my busy season is now over and silently happy that I have a month to breathe…but love the craziness of what my busy season brings…It is so hard to find inspiration in January because of the dreary days…I try to get the kids outside to keep me shooting when I don’t have a photo shoot.  But one thing this week has brought was boredom into the house!  The kids have had 4 extra days off due to snow days and today…a water ban for our city….ugh…they are…

There is no better feeling  than waiting to spend time with family over the holidays…the very little time that goes by {and Christmas does fly by} I still am so excited to see the family I don’t get to see as often as we can. My brother and his wife along with my nephew came into town from PA and my little sister and her family came up from Columbus and we got to spend our Christmas at my sister’s house. Although we are still missing my sister and her family back in Oregon we make the most of it…. …My kids split there time with me and their father…

I had the pleasure to do a photo shoot for Amber for her 16th birthday. Her parents are throwing her a big birthday party…she had a choice to make…a special trip or a party…her response I asked “why the party” was simple and well actually true…she can always go to London, Paris, or wherever but she will never be 16 again…Ah to be that wise at that age…lol…  I also had the pleasure to take photos at her party and will probably share at a later date, but I wanted to…

Photographing kids can be a difficult task to begin with but just changing one’s perspective can help give the emotion in the image…I love every form of photography…and almost every form of art, but when it comes to picture and the ones that grab my attention and love are those of a unique and different perspective. In the beginning when she lost “Lucy” she immediately wanted another one. Then came “Peachy” which all she did was compare the two…that was first mistake number 1 ~ they were completely different hamsters with completely different dispositions…but nonetheless I fell in love with the little guys myself.…

When Kris called me to book her shoot – I just had this feeling it was going to be a lot of fun…the excitement in her voice alone about doing a photo session ~ my kind of gal. On the day of our shoot – I have to admit… I was a bit nervous. I was heading to a location I had never been in forever and I ALWAYS scout out locations before a shoot…and the weather this time of year is so unpredicible…it ended up to be extremely nice…a bit windy but after roaming around the chill in the air seemed to have disappeared. Kris came completely prepared…with of…

Friends for Life ~ Children Photography

Many children have a favorite stuffed bunny, bear, monkey, or puppy or even a blanket they adore, and bring almost everywhere.  God forbid this object gets lost or left at home. I have personally run out to pick up “Bunny” late at night because somehow it was “forgotten”…can’t even imagine how when these little “Friends for Life” are loved so much. My oldest daughter was attached to her blanket that belonged in her crib…a thick comforter that over the years turned into a see-through thin piece of material that faded terribly but you could tell it was well loved. My youngest daughter grew attached to a Precious Moment’s stuffed bunny…

…a couple of years ago I took pictures of Courtney’s sister’s senior pictures and remember sweet little Courtney…what I remember the most is how I admired how she looked up to her big sister…what I didn’t expect to see when I got to see the family again is how much she has matured into a beautiful young woman…what a huge difference a few small years does for young girls these days…geesh…my goodness has she grown up…and blossomed into such a pretty young gal. What was also so touching during the session was when her big sister got teary-eyed watching her baby sister do her senior pictures…it was so nice to…

Blended Family ~ Family Photography ~ Avon Lake Family Photography

Coming from experience with blended families on both sides ~ my mom’s and my dad’s…and in the past 6 years my very own…it can be a rough road ahead when blending two families together. I have been blessed with a stress-free transition and also love witnessing it through others.  I had the pleasure to photograph a soon-to-be blended family this fall. Kerry and Iain had a son of their own from their previous marrige and you would have thought they grew up together in the same house all along…they are truly brothers in every essence of the word.  I had the pleasure to capture their wedding as well and part…

    The Dread of January

I sit here very pleased with my business and my passion I have for what I do for a living but sometimes wonder if I can do more. I am trying to get my non-profit organization up and running but this is going to take time…my free photo shoots for family in needs and fundraisers are a start but it is harder to contact the fellow photographers and getting them on board is much more difficult that I anticipated. Meet Sean…Medina Photography…Medina High School Senior Photography

I have to say my favorite part of photography are the children…ALL ages…and the most enjoyment is high school seniors. I don’t say this because the younger kids are cuter and gigglier, I say this because I enjoy seeing them in who they’ve become and talk about their hopes and dreams.  I get to witness two sides to these individuals… the first side is the shy quiet let’s-get-this-over-with individual to a happy-to-be-here and I’m-actually-having-fun individual who starts sharing his or her dreams. I remember this age so well…you expect so much out of your life and can’t wait to live it, that passion in your belly…mine was lost a while…

Victoria Campbell Photography would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I just love the magic of Christmas…almost wish I can see Christmas through the eyes of a child again, but as I am older I really do love the ability to see what the day is truly about! Christmas begins with CHRIST and feel much comfort knowing he is embracing my father up there! The Beauty is in Children…

…I get so happy and excited when I have the chance to photograph children…the pure innocence and the “authentic” soul of an individual is when they are young and yet not  truly seeing the world for what it is. And when I capture that one image from every sessions and I say “Now that’s a keeper”…I know I captured their true beauty. But then I have the opportunity to photograph older children and high school seniors and love when I can still see their inner beauty. Of course some children dislike getting there picture taken…so its my job to let them know I am not forcing them to look into the camera and “smile”…I simply say…do what you would normally if you were playing at home…normally of course they would have their hair just perfect with a cute adorable outfit on but they become more relaxed and after I show them a picture I took of them “doing what they do”…

    “A Mother’s Joy Begins…

…when new life is stirring inside…when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.” ALL pregnant women look so beautiful to me…I have to admit as much weight as I’ve gained during my pregnancy..there was just something about how “content” I was within myself and how I looked. Meghan is a beautiful pregnant woman who is ready to DROP! She is literally due in 2 weeks from our session and looks stunning!!! There is nothing more sexy than a woman comfortable enough in her own skin let alone during pregnancy! I wish her and her husband many…

    Pet Photography – Medina, OH

It’s not every day I am in a client’s home to photograph them but there are occasions I end up in the home instead of outside at locations. On a newborn photo shoot I did I have fallen in love with more than just the sweet sweet baby boy…it was a dog 🙂 Of course when a puppy is introduced to a family before children are introduced that puppy gets 100% of their attention…but then when sweet sweet baby boy arrived the poor pup didn’t receive quite the attention he was accustom to…almost every single shot that I prepped for the newborn the adorable dog would lay there like “Hello…I’m…

    Child Photography – Brunswick, Ohio

You cannot get any more adorable than this little Irish two year old. Her strawberry blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes are going to give her parents a run for their money when she is a teenager! I love photographing children and what is extra special is when they have this warm welcoming personality that just makes you want to squeeze and hug them all the time…this was Cora. She was a ham! Had tons of fun with Cora and hope to have the opportunity to photography her again.

    Nothing Like a Sleeping Child

There is nothing like a little child sleeping. I can stare at my own children for hours when they sleep. They look so sweet, innocent, and content…to be at the age again where there are no worries and everything is new and a mere wonder! I went downstairs to fold some laundry and to see if little Harmonie wanted to do anything and I noticed she fell asleep…but it doesn’t take much to get her up and once she’s up from a nap that girl is in such a good mood! I really miss my kids at this age.

    And the weather today is…?

The other day I posted pictures of what the weather was like here in Medina Ohio for a child photo shoot and it snowed and was quite chilly. But the next day it was 57 degrees and just a bit breezy and all the snow that fell yesterday was practically gone. It was nice to have two completely different weather conditions for one customer because each day brought a “different” feel for the images. Here are a few of the images on the warmer day…I have to say I like the snow and the “fall” looking ones equally the same 🙂

    Interesting Winter here in Ohio

Many people in Ohio believe that the weather is predicable…but I have to disagree…one thing you can count on living in Northern Ohio is the fact that the weather can be polar opposite one day to the next. We can have a snow storm one day and the next day all that snow can be melted and be warm enough for kids to play outside without any jackets. Now I am one to love the weather change but if it’s going to snow I love to see it stick around. Here is a mini photo shoot I had with little Lauren that was split up in two days. This session…

    Winter wonderland

There is one thing I love living in Ohio and that is the change of seasons. We are so lucky to be able to witness of four seasons even though the “slushy” transitions can be annoying. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to witness this change during a photo shoot itself.  Below are some pictures that were taken while the snow started to fall.

    Winter is here to stay

I have to admit I am slacking on the job when it comes to my blog [sorry 🙁 ] but my free time I have been trying to spend it with family. I am pretty much caught up editing photos. I do have to say it is much easier to edit in the colder months than the warmer months because you don’t feel guilty staying indoors.  This weather in Ohio is extremely unpredictable but one thing has been consistent…it’s chilly outside. I had the opportunity to take a few snap shots of my niece and nephew and it started to snow but it turned out to be picture perfect.

    Medina Family Photographer

I do have to say Facebook is a wonderful social tool, both personally and socially. I have a business fan page I am able to show examples of my style of photography all at the same time of catching up with people I have gone to school with {won’t mention how long that’s been}. I was thrilled when Amy called last year to schedule a session, but of course life gets in the way and schedules could not match…but this year we were able to do it. She has three beautiful girls that were such a joy to photograph!

    I’m finding that I like being more off-centered :0)

A few posts back I put up pictures that I normally ignore and don’t wish to edit only because I know my most of my clients are more traditional.  My clients sometimes wonder why he/she/they were off-centered in a picture. I personally follow the “thirds” rule in composition but I know there any some clients who would like the subject right smack dab in the middle. I live my life so to speak off-centered so I have to wonder if that’s why I like some photos that are. A typical off-centered photo would be when the subject is not quite in the middle of the picture but is still in…

    Winter and It’s Accessories!

I love winter only when you don’t have to drive in it. I love the layers when it comes to clothes and how accessories can change the look and feel of an individual. Sitting all snug on a couch watching it snow outside with a warm blazing fire!  The kids get off the school bus all bundled up looking adorable…they can’t wait to tear their jackets, hats, and scarves off and I all can think of is a photo opportunity.  I fell in love with how this look I even made a banner for my blog with these girls 🙂

    2012…What’s in Store for Me?

It is officially the first day of 2012 and I’m sitting on my chair listening to sci-fi in the background wishing my kids were home from their dads.  I’m not the type of person to make New Year’s resolutions…since it’s typically the “kiss of death” for any success. What I have discovered is that the art of everyday living is the best I can do because I am far from perfect. I just am looking to do better…in every angle of my life…I don’t wish to change my imperfections… do I love to lose 20 lbs – OF COURSE…do I want to spend more quality time with my children instead…
